Order of the Arrow

The Order of the Arrow is the National Honor Society in Scouting.

The purpose of the OA is:

  • To recognize those Scout campers who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives
  • To develop and maintain camping traditions and spirit
  • To promote Scout camping

To crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others

It is considered an honor to be elected to OA.

Here is a description of what takes place during Ordeal:

The induction ceremony, called the Ordeal, is the first step toward full membership. During the experience, candidates maintain silence, receive small amounts of food, work on camp improvement projects, and are required to sleep alone, apart from other campers. The entire experience is designed to teach significant values.

Troop 121 Mission

Troop 121’s Boy Scout program at Mission Hills Christian School  is designed to develop Christian character and teach life skills to young boys so that they will be a positive influence reflecting high moral and ethical leadership in their community.

Our Scouting program is a boy-run organization with adults guiding, coaching and empowering them as they develop into Christian leaders. Our vision is to use this program as a vehicle to instill Christ centered values that will develop into a strong and positive witness for Christ.

Troop 121 is a balanced program with day events like hikes and bikes rides, weekend camp outs with merit badge and camp fire events, week long programs like summer camp and training events, high adventure programs with weekend and long term back packing and water treks.

In Troop 121 you can start out slow and graduate into more challenging programs or hit the ground running.  "We are all about the boys" so each level of program is constructed to allow a boy to advance at his skill level and ability.

Webelos & New Scouts

Troop 121 has a plan to train new scouts that join to insure their fun and success in the program. Basic scouting skills are taught along with safety and first aid programs.

Merit badges classes are offered as well as instructional training so that a scout can become quickly qualified to start to participate in high adventure and more challenging scouting events. No other organization teaches young men to become leaders and how to lead like scouting.
